The obverse (front) of the coin features the iconic image of Lady Liberty, often referred to as "Miss Liberty" or "Anna Willess Williams," designed by George T. Morgan. Liberty is portrayed wearing a Phrygian cap, symbolizing freedom, and with flowing hair. The word "LIBERTY" is inscribed on the headband, and the date "1890" is at the bottom. The reverse (back) of the coin displays a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings, holding arrows and an olive branch. The eagle is accompanied by a wreath, and above it is the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST." The mint mark "O" for New Orleans is found on the reverse, near the bottom.
